Applying
Do I need a college degree?
While many of our opportunities do not require a college degree, some positions may necessitate a four-year degree or specific vocational training. As a responder, individuals with relevant job experience and education can also find suitable opportunities. For specific requirements, please visit our Volunteer Openings page.
Do I need to speak a foreign language as a responder?
Language proficiency is not currently required for volunteering. However, if future opportunities necessitate language skills, those requirements will be clearly stated in the trip openings. Check our Volunteer Openings page for more details.
How do I check the status of my CSi application?
Our team will contact you within two weeks regarding your application status.
Is there an age limit for serving with CSi?
There is no upper age limit for CSi service, but volunteers must be at least 18 years old to participate. Some exceptions may be made for travelers aged 16 and older, provided they are accompanied by family.
I want to serve with my spouse. How do we apply?
Couples can serve together; however, each individual must apply to separate job postings.

Where will I stay during my CSi Responder trip?
Volunteers will be accommodated in clean, safe, and moderate hotels. We strive to ensure that all accommodations provide internet access, allowing you to stay connected with loved ones back home.
I have dietary restrictions and food allergies. Will this affect my application or CSi service?
Please inform us of any dietary restrictions or food allergies. In some countries, you may need to bring snacks, as certain items may not be readily available.
What if a family emergency occurs while I am serving?
You will receive an emergency contact number to allow your loved ones to reach you in case of an emergency. The situation will be assessed, and options for returning home will be discussed.
Can my minor children accompany me during my service trip with CSi?
While we encourage children to stay home due to the nature of our trips, they will surely enjoy the stories and souvenirs you can bring back!
I don't see any CSi openings that match my skills. What should I do?
If you don’t find a suitable opening, we recommend regularly monitoring our available positions, as new opportunities are posted as funding is secured. Please subscribe to our mailing list for updates on featured openings.
What kind of training will I receive as a CSi Response volunteer?
Upon your arrival in the country of service, you will participate in a brief orientation. While technical and language training is minimal, you are expected to possess the skills necessary to complete your assignment.

Is the medical evaluation process different for older candidates?
No, the medical evaluation process is the same for all applicants. Every volunteer undergoes a comprehensive medical and dental assessment based on their health history to determine if their medical needs can be adequately supported in our host countries.
Medical and Health
I have a specific medical condition. Will it impact my ability to serve or where I am placed?
It may. CSi volunteers operate in environments that can be physically, emotionally, and mentally challenging, where medical resources may be limited. Your medical history will be assessed individually to ensure we can safely meet your health needs in the country of service. It is crucial to fully disclose your medical history when applying.
What immunizations do volunteers need?
CSi requires proof of routine childhood immunizations, including records or blood tests for tetanus/diphtheria, chickenpox, polio, measles, mumps, and rubella. Depending on your country of service, a yellow fever vaccination may also be required. Any necessary vaccines for your specific country must be administered before your trip, as many nations require a medical card for entry into customs and immigration.
